Functionality Overview

To initiate scanning, users simply tap the "TAP TO START SCAN" button or shake their device, activating the camera. It is essential to ensure that the camera aligns properly with the barcode—maintaining a vertical or horizontal orientation is crucial for accurate readings. Proper lighting and focus are also necessary; users may need to adjust their device to optimize these conditions. Once a barcode is detected, it will be highlighted with a green square and automatically added to the "CODES SCANNED" list.

If users experience difficulties while scanning, they can access helpful tips by tapping the info button while the camera is active.

After scanning, users have several options for managing their barcodes: they can save them for later use, share them through various platforms, conduct web searches based on the codes, or paste them into other applications. The last scanned code is automatically stored in the clipboard for convenience. Additionally, codes can be saved to a text file or shared via cloud services such as Dropbox or Google Drive by selecting "DO SOMETHING WITH SCANNED BARCODES."

Supported Formats

The app supports a wide range of barcode formats including EAN-8, UPC-E, ISBN-13, UPC-A, EAN-13, Interleaved 2 of 5, Code 39, QR Code, Code 128, Code 93, Farmacode, GS1 DataBar variations, Codabar, PDF417, and DataMatrix. Users are encouraged to explore both standard and alternative scanning libraries available in the settings page.

For users who have opted to disable ads by tapping on "REMOVE BANNERS" in the settings page: This app can now integrate seamlessly with your web applications. By using a specified callback URL when scanning barcodes through your web apps, you can effortlessly retrieve and manage barcode content.

An example URL would be structured as follows: bar-code://scan?callback=[callback url]. After scanning a barcode, relevant content will be appended to this URL.
